#AspiretoInspire (2019)
In 2019, my classmates and I were assigned to host the radio programme. It was a requirement of COMM 3090: Professional Speech Communication subject. We were asked to talk on “Empathy is Key: Imparting Knowledge on Disabilities.” Therefore, with a group of 2, my friend and I were searching for someone who was diagnosed with mental illness and got recovery. There were few potential guests that we approached, and alhamdulillah we have locked one patient of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) who has recovered from the mental illness.

I approached Brother Anas Husni from IIUM and proposed to him a topic. We were also set the appointment to meet in order to get to know each other before the live session was recorded. We also provided and explained to him the questions that need to be asked by us during the live session. This is to ensure that the interview session would run smoothly.

This assessment really taught me to be more aware of the disabilities. I learnt a lot about MDD patients, what are the causes, what are the effects, and how to recover from it. As for the process of getting the guest, I learnt more about public relation job scope. The copywriting must be proofread, designed the poster, and edited the video podcast. Not to forget, I learnt a lot on how to engage with the special guest. Here are the photo, video podcast, and the posters for this radio programme.
